Upstairs at the Old Vic, Barr Street, Tungamah

This is the first in a series of photos taken from old scratchy negatives belonging to my father, Basil Sheridan, and dating from the 1930s. Some are easy to identify, whilst others have left us scratching our heads. For instance, this is obviously one of the four Sheridan boys, but is it Bill, Jack, Peter or Basil? The latter is my guess, but anyone is welcome to play the guessing game.

I love this photo because it is of something that didn't exist by the time I came along...I have no memory whatsoever of my father's old home ever having an upstairs front balcony verandah, and we grandchildren were banned from venturing into the upstairs section by the 1960s.
